Be Green
Eco-Friendly -
Environmentally friendly (also eco-friendly, nature friendly, and green) are synonyms used to refer to goods and services considered to inflict minimal or no harm on the environment. To make consumers aware, environmentally friendly goods and services often are marked with eco-labels.
Energy Efficient -
Usually associated with an energy efficiency rating for appliances – the use of technology that requires less energy to perform the same function.
Fair Trade -
A trading model that encourages and supports producers to do what is best for the sustainability of their communities.
Less Chemicals -
Products without more harmful chemicals eg parabens, sodium lauryl sulphate.
Organic -
Naturally grown without chemical herbicides, pesticides or fertilisers.
Recycled -
To treat or process (used or waste materials) so as to make suitable for re-use – to pass through a cycle again.
Sustainable -
To Support “The ability to meet the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.”
Water Efficient -
A new rating being developed similar to the Energy Efficient Rating system - the use of water in producing a particular product.
